9. You Oughta Know – Alanis Morissette

A song that better explains the state of a woman’s mind after a difficult breakup than “You Oughta Know” hasn’t been created to this day.

Famed Canadian singer Alanis Morissette wrote the song after her love affair with Hollywood actor Dave Coulier.

The actor himself admitted to being the ex-boyfriend portrayed in the hit song back in 2008, when he said that the lines of the song are “very close to home, especially the one about ‘an older version of me’ and bugging ‘in the middle of dinner.”

Prior to Coulier’s confirmation, some other A-listers have been rumored to be the lover in the song, like Matt LeBlanc and Leslie Howe.
