The former Will & Grace star had been skirting the issue of his sexuality for years when he finally admitted he was gay to The Advocate back in 2010, but we’re sorry to have to tell you Sean, you weren’t fooling anybody. Sean portrayed the wonderfully flamboyant and witty character Jack McFarland for 8 seasons on the hit television show in the late 90’s to mid-2000’s and during that time gained quite the fan following.

During his time as the breakout star of the show many fans and industry insiders were convinced that Sean was also gay like his character Jack, but Sean had tried his damnedest to avoid the rumors. Since his confirmation in 2010 he has gone on to apologize to the LGBT community for waiting too long to publicly come out saying he missed a great opportunity to help others. But he also stated that in 1998 it was still a bit of a scary thing, to come out and he was also a very young actor at just 28 when the show began. Whatever the case fans of the show and members of the LGBT community are happy Sean is finally living his life out and proud.
