12 Celebrities You Might Not Know Are Bisexual
10) Carrie Brownstein
With a successful music career and increasing notoriety for the sketch comedy in the quirky IFC show Portlandia, Carrie Brownstein is certainly an interesting character. It seems that everybody just assumed that a tomboy girl from the northwest would just be a lesbian, something that might ring true with sketches involving a lesbian bookstore in her show.
However, Brownstein stated in 2010 in an interview on Williamette Week that no one had actually ever asked about her sexual preference stating, “It’s weird, because no one’s actually ever asked me. People just always assume, like, you’re this or that. It’s like, OK. I’m bisexual.” Maybe it was the fact that she was a tennis and soccer playing tomboy, her antics on the Riot Grrrl scene in college, or her wildly successful stint as the leader of the indie band Sleater-Kinney that earned her suspicious reputation.
Really, who cares? The bisexual scene is always happy to have another cool gal on board, and since her own father came out years ago as gay, she certainly does not have to worry about the family backlash. As far as whether or not she and co-star and good friend Fred Armisen have gone there, she steadfastly proclaims their relationship as platonic.
