That Ethan Hawke, a young celebrity with good looks and a twinkle in his eye, would cheat is ultimately not a huge surprise, but that he would cheat on a beauty like Uma Thurman with a nanny is a bit of a shock.
Of course, it must have shocked Thurman too. The couple couldn’t survive that kind of betrayal and their marriage hit the wall fast and hard. Hawke actually went on to marry the nanny and have two kids with her. He and Thurman also had two kids.
In a recent interview, Hawke played down the importance of fidelity and monogamy stating that humans are “sexual beings.” Wonder why he took vows for the second time then? Perhaps, just perhaps, the grass wasn’t really greener in marriage number two. Who knows what Hawke was getting at.
