11. Usher And Chilli

This messy break up caused a lot of fuss back in 2004.

That’s the trouble with dating songwriters, you know – you can be sure that you’ll end up in a song.

That can all be very cool for as long as you’re together, but as soon as those break-up bells start ringing you can be sure of getting lyrically dragged through the mud.

Usher and TLC’s Chilli were the ultimate RNB couple of the 90’s and early 00’s. When the couple broke up in 2004, and Usher released his studio album Confessions, all kinds of rumors started flying around that the lyrics in “Confessions Part II” were inspired by his split from Chilli.

The lyrics of the infamous song tell a story of a man impregnating another woman behind his girlfriend’s back. However, Chilli didn’t exactly keep her thoughts to herself and she only added fuel to the whole thing by revealing during an interview that she had broken up with the singer after he had “committed the ultimate no-no”.

There are still people waiting for the couple to get back together, but that’s definitely a “no-no.”
