12) Who Needs this Kind of Love?: Courtney Love

Courtney Love — best known as Kurt Cobain’s widow — has pretty much made a career out of being a loon. Although, the former lead singer of “Hole” really hasn’t done much career-wise lately, she still manages to stay in the news. For instance, in May 2014, she claimed to have found the missing Malaysian Air jet.

Of course, Love has had a long history of strange behavior. She used to, for example, carry around Cobain’s ashes in a teddy bear-shaped backpack. And she loves to get naked in public — whether anyone really wants to see that or not. Her strange behavior and remarks have also led to an estrangement with her daughter, Francis Bean. Her daughter was especially upset after Love used Twitter to accuse Cobain’s former friend and bandmate, Dave Grohl, of trying to seduce Bean. The offending Tweets read, “I hear from frannies roommate that @davegrohl hit on frances, and that she was curious, I’m not mad at her, him I am about to shoot. dead,” and “it could be a rumor (sic) the actual sex, and it’s not beans fault she’s not slutty in any way, at all, HES OBSESSED.”

Not amused, Bean responded with, “While I’m generally silent on the affairs of my biological mother, her recent tirade has taken a gross turn. I have never been approached by Dave Grohl in more than a platonic way.”
