Although his edgy intensity adds just the right amount of danger to his movie characters; in real life, Cruise often comes across as over-the-top. For example, Cruise is infamous for jumping up and down on Oprah’s couch in excitement over his then-relationship with Katie Holmes. The incident was memorable for being both very strange and very awkward at the same time.

In addition, Cruise’s devotion to the mysterious and somewhat creepy religion of Scientology has also made some people question the actor’s sanity. It has been widely reported that Holmes left their marriage in part to keep their daughter, Suri, out of Scientology’s clutches.
