8) “Prison Break” Actor Ends Up in Prison: Lane Garrison

In 2006, it looked like things were starting to go Garrison’s way. He had a steady gig on the popular television show, “Prison Break,” and stardom seemed like it could be just around the corner. Unfortunately, in December 2006, Garrison crashed his car while high and drunk, killing a 17-year-old male passenger and injuring two 15-year-old girls who were also in his car.

Garrison, who was 26 at the time of the accident, had accepted an invitation to a party from some teenage fans he met at a store. While at the party, he had some drinks and then left with several partygoers in his car to get more alcohol. During the ride, he lost control of his car while driving at 50 miles an hour and hit a tree. According to the police, Garrison had cocaine and had more than twice the legal limit of alcohol in his system.

Garrison was sentenced to 40 months in prison after pleading guilty to vehicular manslaughter, drunken driving and to providing alcohol to a minor. However, he earned an early release for good behavior and got out after spending only 22 months in prison.
