In 2003, Pompeo met music producer Ivery at a Los Angeles grocery store and the two began dating six months later.

The couple was engaged in 2006 when Ivery proposed on her 37th birthday with a 3.5-carat emerald-cut diamond.

One year later, they went down to city hall in New York where City Major Michael Bloomberg served as a witness for their brief ceremony conducted by a city clerk.

All three of them have connections to Massachusetts: Ivery grew up in Boston, Bloomberg is a native of Medford, and Pompeo herself was born in Everett.

Pompeo has said that her husband is extremely secure and has “so much swag”; which she believes is the key to her long-lasting attraction to him.

Nothing shakes Ivery, and he can be her rock through just about anything. They have one daughter, Stella Luna, who keeps them quite busy together.
