The incident involved actresses Jennifer Aniston and Angelina Jolie. Pitt was married with co-star Jennifer Aniston since 2001.

Things were working fine for them until the actor landed a role in “Mr. and Mrs. Smith” in 2005, in which he starred alongside Angelina Jolie.

The two fell in love with each other on the set, engaging in an affair. Even though both Brad and Angelina deny that they had sex while Pitt was still married to Jennifer Aniston, the actor eventually ended things with Jennifer and married Jolie.
