After a series of high profile relationships and nasty breakups in the early part of his career Ben Affleck struck gold when he married his beautiful and talented wife Jennifer Garner.

The pair began their romance on the set of their superhero film Daredevil in 2004 and became engaged just 9 months after they first started dating.

Garner had been previously married to actor Scott Foley but the pair amicably split in 2004 after 4 years of marriage.

The happy couple married in a romantic island wedding ceremony in 2005 and soon began working on growing their family. They welcomed their first child Violet in 2005 followed by Seraphina in 2009 and son Samuel in 2012.

The couple have been praised for their very un-Hollywood approach to raising their children and they currently split their time between year round homes in Los Angeles and Massachusetts as well as an apartment in New York City and a summer home in Savannah, Georgia.

They have both also managed to have busy and successful careers while juggling their growing family and they aren’t showing any signs of slowing down in the near future as Affleck recently signed up to step into another superheroes shoes as he takes on the role of Batman in the upcoming Man of Steel sequel.
