This couple met while shooting their 2002 film Murder by Numbers and America’s Sweetheart almost immediately coupled up with this hunky heartbreak. They dated from 2002-2003 (despite a significant age gap; Bullock is sixteen years older then Gosling) during which time Bullock helped to get Gosling’s career off the ground.

Purportedly, bad feelings about the breakup haven’t quite vanished. Nominated in 2014 for her work in Gravity, Bullock opened up to sources that her biggest anxiety about the Oscars was running into Gosling. Divorced from hubby Jesse James (after a 2010 incident in which James cheated on her), Bullock might also know that Gosling was taking a break at the time from his girlfriend Eva Mendes.

You can’t blame Bullock; her luck with men hasn’t exactly been stellar. It must be a raw year for her emotions and nobody likes to run into an ex. Turns out it was a big night though; being nominated for an Oscar is definitely a way to come back swinging from any big breakup.
