14) Natalie Portman & Moby

Vegans who eat together flock together. In 2001, Moby and Natalie Portman enjoyed what is described by all parties (involved and viewing from the sidelines) as a “brief fling”. The strange part about this is the effect it had on Moby’s fans (or perhaps his not-quite fans).

Moby has publically admitted to this particular relationship making him the target of a great deal of “nerd wrath” citing, “you can’t date Luke Skywalker’s mom and not have them hate your guts”. Apparently they weren’t the only ones; questions about Moby’s sexuality have always run rampant (partially fueled by the fact that the rock star has never married and often claimed he wished he were gay). After the brief romantic entanglement with Portman, many thought he would take the moment to come out of his proverbial closet. Instead, Moby was attacked by three men after a performance at the Paradise Club in Boston on December 11 2002. The star suffered facial bruising, required several stitches, and later reported the incident as “gay bashing”.

We sincerely hope that Portman doesn’t have this effect on all the men she dates (though hubby Benjamin Millepied might want to watch his back).
