These two were rumored to have been dating in the early 2000s in an affair so secret that no one seems to have the real scoop about it. One thing’s for sure: the paparazzi caught them locked in what can only be called a “steamy” embrace on New Year’s Eve in 2006.

Despite this, Liu claims that she never dated Clooney (though who could really blame her for a moment of weakness even if that “moment” only lasted long enough for one kiss?). She laughed the rumors off in February of 2006, telling reported that she and Clooney enjoyed a purely platonic relationship and that it would stay that way. She added that if they ever chose to date, there was no chance that the cameras would catch them smooching. She’d make out with others in public, she claimed, but not Clooney. Additionally, she said she’d never even been to the Miami nightclub where she and George allegedly were caught together. Maybe it’s not a skintight alibi, but who would deny adding Clooney to their list?
