In the early nineties, Close proved to be a bit of a cougar with this steamy, torrid affair. We say “a bit” but, really, Harrelson is fifteen years her junior; that’s cradle robbing at its finest!

A 2000 book entitled American Rhapsody reveals every details of this romance. The couple managed to keep their affair quiet and secret even from their own partners, but this tell-all definitely blew the lid off. When Close showed up, Harrelson’s friends said that the pair would escape to the bedroom and not come out for hours. At the time, Harrelson maintained two Malibu houses blocks apart. In one house, he lived with his girlfriend Laura Louie and their daughter Deni (their marriage was an open one; a good thing since Close would show up at his doorstep). At the second house, dubbed “Party Central” by Harrelson and his buds, he kept a constant parade of willing young things that came and go as they pleased. The pair-s seeming obsession with each other bordered on the psychotic. While Harrelson claimed that this affair was simply physical, the two did develop a close friendship over the years.
