Robert Pattinson & Kristen Stewart: Will They Reunite at Cannes?

Nothing screams romance like the French Riviera. Nothing screams glamour and glitz like the Cannes Film Festival. What happens when estranged lovers end up at the same French film festival? Will sparks fly?

We’re about to find out, because Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart both have films premiering at the 2014 Cannes Film Festival, which runs from May 14 to 25. Stewart stars in the film “Clouds of Sils Maria.” Pattinson will be in two films showing at Cannes: “Maps to the Stars” and “The Rover.” Both are expected to appear at the festival when their films premiere.

Pattinson and Stewart met when they played the broody vampire, Edward, and his klutzy human girlfriend, Bella, in the 2008 film “Twilight.” To the delight of their many fans, their on-screen romance quickly turned into a real life love story. The couple floated along like a fairy tale for over three years until a paparazzo snapped photos of Stewart making out with Rupert Sanders, her director for “Snow White and the Huntsman.” Pattinson and Stewart tried to work things out, but their relationship slowly petered out in early 2013.

Fast forward a year. Both stars have kept themselves busy, traveling all over the world filming movies. Too busy for love? Pattinson has been linked to Dylan Penn, Riley Keough and even Katy Perry, but so far no one’s stuck. Stewart hasn’t been paired with anyone. Maybe the flame hasn’t completely died out. Pattinson and Stewart were last spotted meeting during Halloween 2013, and rumors placed them together at Christmas as well.

Pattinson and Stewart have been at Cannes together before. In 2012, Stewart attended the premiere of her film “On The Road,” and Pattinson premiered his film “Cosmopolis.” They were spotted hugging and kissing on a rooftop balcony during the after-party for “On The Road.” Will there be a repeat at this year’s Cannes? Or rather, will there be angry glares and purposeful avoidance? Only time will tell.
