Uma Thurman Calls Off Wedding To Billionaire Arki Busson

Uma Thurman has reportedly called off the wedding with fiancé and baby daddy Arpad “Arki” Busson. Their relationship has never been stable, but in Hollywood that’s hardly a stretch. The couple has been on again/off again since 2007.

This would have been the third marriage for Thurman. She married actor Gary Oldman in 1990 and they divorced two years later. She then married actor Ethan Hawke in 1998 and the marriage produced two children—daughter Maya Ray and son Levon. The couple divorced in 2005 after a two-year separation.

Although Busson works in finance, he’s no stranger to Hollywood scene. He dated and has two sons with — supermodel Elle MacPherson. He’s a notorious playboy and probably has more than one girl in every area code.

In 2008, the couple got engaged and Thurman showed off her eight-carat diamond engagement ring. A year later, however, she returned the ring. She wasn’t seen with the ring again, even though they worked through their issues in 2011 and he re-proposed in 2012. Arki and Uma welcomed their baby girl Rosalind Arusha Arkadina Altalune Florence Thurman-Busson in to the world in 2012. The couple couldn’t seem happier, but signs soon started to show that the relationship was wearing thin.

A source reported that Uma and Arki were to attend a gala together on April 8. Uma did show up without her fiancé or ring. The source made it clear that there was only one reason that Busson would have missed the event—Thurman was there. One of the major factors contributing to the break up seems to be physical distance. Uma resides in New York and Arki lives in London. Although millionaire status makes that distance much smaller, it still weighed heavily on their relationship.

Even though the couple are officially off now, their history indicates that the split might not be permanent. Now that there is a daughter in the mix too, it’s hard to envision a scenario where the couple does not work things out in the long run.
