Jodie Foster Marries Girlfriend Alexandra Hedison

The iconic star Jodie Foster tied the knot with her partner of one year, Alexandra Hedison, according to insider reports. The actress and photographer said “I do” to each other at a very private ceremony over the weekend of April 19. This new betrothal marks a milestone for Foster, who somewhat came out as a lesbian after years of speculation in a speech at 2013’s Golden Globes Awards.
Foster and Hedison were rumored to be dating after candid pictures began circulating of the two at dinner and on the set at Fox Studios last year. They were also seen canoodling at a stage viewing of “Macbeth,” a one man show starring the fabulous Alan Cumming in New York. The actress’ rep confirmed her nuptials to her girlfriend and stated that the two are totally in love.
For an obvious recap, Foster’s career spans decades as a child star turned leading lady and multiple award winner. She was rumored to have had serious relationships with females but never publicly addressed the hearsay until her speech last year. Hudson has been always out as a lesbian, and the artist is known for her photo work, a relationship with Ellen Degeneres, and a role as the evil Dylan on Showtime’s lesbian drama, “The L Word.”
Foster was receiving the coveted Cecil B. DeMille Award at the Golden Globes when she made the speech heard around the world. The actress stated that she valued her privacy and her friends and family have always been aware of her sexuality. The 50-year-old thanked her former partner, Cydney Bernard, with whom she has two children. Foster also expressed her gratitude towards Bernard at a 2007 Women in Entertainment Breakfast speech while the actress accepted the Sherry Lansing Leadership Award.
In candid pictures from 2013, the statuesque Hedison and powerhouse Foster look happy and cozy as they stroll the streets of NYC. There hasn’t been much in the way of recent photographs of the newly married couple, but with the announcement of their marriage, it probably will not take long for more glowing pictures of the happy spouses.
