Sarah Silverman Joins Beau Michael Sheen on ‘Masters of Sex’!

One of comedy’s greatest female talents is set to stretch her acting wings and stare alongside her boyfriend in his hit television series. That’s right, Sarah Silverman has been cast to join the second season of the Showtime smash series Masters of Sex. The gorgeous and hilarious actress/comedian will join the show as a character named Helen who could star in as many as 12 episodes in the show’s sophomore season. Further details on her character’s story are being held under wraps, but many are speculating that the actress may be starring opposite her real life boyfriend Michael Sheen. Rumors have been swirling around the pair claiming that they are an official item, ever since Sarah was spotted with the hunky actor in Los Angeles after his 45th birthday celebration in February.

The Hollywood power couple seem to have finally confirm their relationship status a few weeks after the birthday bash when they were seen out and about holding hands and looking very cozy together. Many media outlets are also speculating as to how Sarah will be fitting into the cast but we know that her character Helen will actually be a former lesbian lover of Betty, one of the female participants in the study. She is a closeted palm reader and self-proclaimed psychic who still has feelings for her former flame. Beyond that not much more is clear on how “Helen” will be intertwining with other characters on the show.

The series easily became a fan favorite in 2013 and received several high honors during awards season with nominations for a Golden Globe, WGA nominations and the show was even named as one of AFI’s top television programs of the year. The hit series is a period drama created by Michelle Ashford and stars both Michael Sheen and Lizzy Caplan as its 2 main characters, famed researchers William Masters and Virginia Johnson. The highly anticipated premiere of season 2 will take place on Sunday, July 13 at 10pm on Showtime.
