New Findings On The Death Of Peaches Geldof

For years Peaches Geldof had been battling drug addiction before she tragically died on April 7, 2014. Her husband Thomas Cohen revealed that she had begun using heroin again in February this year and that he confronted her about the drug use after finding suspicious texts.

On that fateful day Thomas found her unconscious in the bed at their home in Kent, with their youngest son Phaedra just in another room. He had been away for the weekend with the boys so Peaches would have a chance to catch up on her chores. On Sunday, Thomas’ father returned with Phaedra and spent some time with Peaches before leaving his grandson with her.

The English columnist and TV presenter was a devoted mother.

However, she struggled with the loss of her own mother Paula Yates, who died when she was only 11. Paula also died of a heroin overdose in 2000.

“It has been said this is a case of history repeating itself. But this is not entirely so. Peaches had tried to stop using drugs,” said the coroner of this week’s inquest.

The inquest also revealed evidence that back in 2013 Peaches successfully received counseling and treatment and that she started working on the reduction of her dose of methadone, which is used as the substitute drug.

Bob Geldof, Peaches’ father, has recently talked of the “intolerable grief” he still felt over his daughter’s loss. “I go into organization mode and that distracts me. But, like anybody else, these things assault you without warning,” the Irish star said.

“You could be talking to someone, you could be walking down the road, and suddenly out of the blue there’s an awareness of her. And you know… I buckle,” sincere was the father. “Tom, their Dad, and Keith and Sue, their grandparents, are amazing people and are doing fantastically with the guys. So, yeah, as I say, I don’t want them becoming wrapped up in the Geldof life.”
