Cheryl Cole On Her Marriage Going Public

The British star has admitted she wished her marriage was under the radar for a little while longer.

“I would have actually kept it that way secret, but unfortunately it was leaked,” she stated for “Radio 1” on Thursday, but later, however, she also mentioned that she’s in fact quite happy with how the whole situation worked out. “But I’m glad it’s out there”, she added.

In the interview for the afternoon show, Cheryl also revealed that she did not have a traditional bachelorette party and that she was very happy with her new partner.

The 31-year-old singer revealed she had married her partner after only three months of dating.

She married Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini, a French pop-up restaurant businessman, earlier in July.

Cheryl announced her surprisingly quick marriage news by posting a picture of her engagement and her huge wedding ring on Twitter.

“I usually do not discuss my personal life but to stop the speculation I want to share my happy news… Jean-Bernard and I married on 7/7/14…,” read her Twitter post accompanied by the photo.

The lucky couple was seen on Wednesday looking extremely happy as they attended the launch of Cheryl’s new perfume entitled “Storm Flower.” Cheryl and Jean-Bernard cuddled up in a private booth where they were spotted talking and simply enjoying the presence of one another.

The couple tied the knot in a private ceremony on the beach in Mustique. Only four guests attended the small wedding and Cheryl celebrated her new marital status when she was back with friends and family in London.

Even though Cheryl wanted to keep the marriage under the radar, she seems to cope quite well with all the publicity her wedlock is providing. We bet Jean-Bernard shares her opinion.
