Sarah Hyland – Restraining Order Against Ex-boyfriend Matt Prokop Granted

Young Modern Family star claims that her ex-boyfriend, Matt Prokop, physically assaulted her and even threatened to take her life, and now Sarah has officially been granted a temporary restraining order against Matt.

No Official Comments From Sarah Just Yet

Hyland allegedly filed her petition on Friday.

The hearing has been scheduled for October 10th and that’s when it will be decided if the restraining order should be extended or not.

Lee A. Sherman, Sarah’s attorney, backed up the story and confirmed that Sarah had obtained a court order against Matt, 24, but has also stated that young star will not have any official comments and statements for the press.

“Out of respect for the court, the process and all parties, I have advised Ms Hyland not to comment on the matter,” said Sherman.

Julie Bowen To The Rescue

TMZ online magazine reports Matt became physically violent and threatened to kill Sarah during their fall out back in May, and then after another similar incident, Sarah was forced to seek help from her “Modern Family” mum Julie Bowen. Julie reportedly intervened and helped them “peacefully end the relationship”.

The former lovebirds started dating after they met at the auditions for “High School Musical 3: Senior Year” back in 2008, but broke up in August after five years of dating.

After they split up, Sarah has claimed Matt “relentlessly bombarded her with threatening and emotional disturbing texts and voicemails”.
