Andy Murray And Kim Sears Engaged
Congratulations are in order since famous athlete Andy Murray is engaged to his long-term love Kim Sears!
The 27-year-old Scottish tennis star proposed to Sears after an 8-year relationship. Allegedly, the wait was worth it since he popped the question with a big, expensive rock!
A source close to the couple revealed that Andy “spent ages thinking about the ring, he chose the design himself and picked it up last week,” before proposing to Kim. The source added: “They are just going to enjoy themselves before they start planning their big day.”
In that same year he was named Sports Personality Of The Year. They have been through thick and thin.
The couple has been always very protective of their privacy. They met in 2005 at the US Open when Kim was travelling with her dad Nigel, who is a tennis coach.
She was only 17 at the time and Andy was her first serious boyfriend. Murray once said: “I’m lucky. I know she isn’t with me because I’m in the spotlight.”
For Kim’s 21st birthday present, Murray bought her their border terrier, Maggie: “Getting her was probably one of the happiest days of my life. I’ve always loved dogs and now it feels more like a happy family.”
They split for six months in 2010 and, allegedly, the pup Maggie was the one who helped out in their reconciliation in that same year.
The soon to be married couple now lives in a multi-million pound mansion in Oxshott, Surrey, along with Maggie, of course, and their other terrier Rusty.
In his book Seventy-Seven: My Road to Wimbledon Glory, Murray revealed that he has intentions to start a family with Kim: “I would like to start a family and try to be a good father. That’s important to me. It’s something that I’m starting to think about because Kim and I have been together for eight years.”
