Celine Dion’s Husband Fighting a Tough Battle With Throat Cancer

Celine Dion’s husband Rene Angelil has been battling throat cancer with his wife right by his side.

Dion opened up in an ABC News interview about her husband’s condition and said at this point he needs to use a feeding tube to eat.

Dion has also decided to put her career on hold and it’s uncertain when the fans will be seeing the singing sensation back in Las Vegas again.

“Oh, come on. The fans, they know that I’m an open book. I sing. That’s the only thing I know,” Dion said during her emotional interview, explaining their family situation.

“He can’t use his mouth. He can’t eat, so I feed him. He’s got a feeding tube. I have to feed him three times a day. I do this myself, and so I feed my husband and feed my kids.”

Dion and Angelil have three children together, Rene-Charles, 14, and twins Eddy and Nelson, 4. The 46-year-old singer and her 73-year-old manager have been married since 1994. Angelil was first diagnosed with throat cancer in 1999 and in 2013 underwent a procedure to remove the tumour.

Dion also shared they are taking life “one day at a time”.
