Beyonce & Jay Z Break Silence on Elevator Fight

Whether or not you follow Beyonce or Jay Z avidly, you probably heard about the elevator fracas caused by sister Solange Knowles. A leaked video came to light showing Beyonce’s sister viciously attacking Jay Z. The video lacked sound and context and instantly went viral on the internet. The hotel staffers who leaked the video have already been fired from their jobs but the question still remains: What caused Solange to melt down? Beyonce and Jay Z finally broke their silence regarding the attack and a bit of clarity has emerged.
The violent outburst, not unusual for Solange due to her short temper, was apparently precipitated by a fight with designer Rachel Roy. Roy was allegedly getting too comfortably with Jay Z and Solange took offense on her sister’s behalf. The two women got into a verbal altercation that got physical and was abruptly broken up by Jay Z. Beyonce decided to call the party quits and leave with her sister and husband. Jay Z allegedly called Solange out for her temper and things came to a head, again. Sources say that Solange has been dealing with financial and emotional distress for awhile now, and it all came to a head on that night.

While Solange has been dramatic on her social media, Beyonce and Jay Z have remained relatively quiet–until now. The married couple released a statement to try and dispel any rumors of an ongoing feud. The statement says that the most important thing to know is that the “family has worked through” their problems, and the reason for the fight is no longer important. The note goes on to say that Jay and Solange have “shared responsibility” for the elevator meltdown and have apologized to each other and “moved on”, emphatically putting the matter to rest. Whether this is the truth or not, nobody knows, but it seems all that is likely to come out at this point.
