Celine Dion’s Husband “Wants To Die In Her Arms”

Celine Dion’s husband René Angélil, 73, has been battling throat cancer for an extended period of time, which has distanced Dion from her residency at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. Scheduled to return to the stage on August 27, the singer revealed she made the right choice, especially considering her husband wants her “to do what she loves”.

Dion’s husband of 21 years and long-time manager is battling for his life, which has caused tremendous pain to their family, particularly given the fact that doctors are unsure how long Angélil has left to live.

René-Charles, 14, the couple’s eldest son, is having a particularly difficult time seeing his father suffering extensively, while the couple’s 4-year-old twins, Nelson and Eddy, have practically never seen him under different circumstances.

Dion’s last few months have been filled with sorrow and she revealed some of the conversations she’s had with her husband.

“I’ll say, ‘You’re scared? I understand. Talk to me about it.’ And René says to me, ‘I want to die in your arms.’ OK, fine, I’ll be there, you’ll die in my arms.”

The singer spends most of her time with her family in their home in Las Vegas carrying for her ill husband.
