Elton John’s Husband David Furnish To Head Pride Parade In Toronto
A Toronto-native David Furnish has been named the grand marshal of the Pride Toronto parade, officials report. His music superstar husband, Elton John, will not be able to join him as he will be on tour in Europe.
“Any opportunity with Elton to promote the message and to fly the flag, he’s always very positive and supportive,” Furnish said of his opportunity to further their cause.
The decision for Furnish to head the Pride parade came in just days after Bruce Jenner confirmed in an interview he’s becoming a woman, one of the milestone moments in the history of the LGBT community.
Furnish will also be guest of honour at a private reception held for the Pride Toronto and the Elton John AIDS Foundation.
The couple’s two children Zachary and Elijah will not be joining Furnish in Toronto, but they sure will be proud of their papa.
