Emma Watson Sets The Record Straight, Denies Rumours About Dating Prince Harry
An Australian magazine’s Woman’s Day announcement that Emma Watson and Prince Harry were an item kept the Internet abuzz for about 2 days, until Watson took to Twitter and squashed the rumour that the pair were romantically involved.
Watson’s tweet, “World. Remember that little talk we had about not believing everything written in the media?!” left her legion of fans disappointed after they had already envisioned the Harry Potter star as a real life princess.
Woman’s Day magazine reported that Prince Harry sent Watson an email inviting her out on a date after her split from boyfriend Matthew Janney in December 2014.
The magazine went on to claim the 30-year-old royal was “smitten” with the English actress, and “it’s more than just Emma’s looks”. The couple were allegedly arranging secret dates to get to know each other better.
The rumour was followed by a long list of Harry Potter jokes on the Internet, including “Emma Watson is dating Prince Harry! Despite JK Rowling’s best efforts, Hermione is finally hooking up with Harry!”
Another tweet said, “I hope Prince Harry and Emma Watson last because if they have a son, it will be the half-blood prince.”
