Kim Kardashian has landed all kinds of magazine covers, including everything from Playboy to Cosmopolitan. But the reality star views herself as the ultimate fashion icon, and thus, could not be satisfied until her sultry stare made the front cover of Vogue.

Aware of Kim’s desire to be on the cover of Vogue, baby daddy and fiance Kanye West is believed to have campaigned hard for a photo shoot with the magazine. He feels that Kim doesn’t receive enough credit for her obvious influence in the fashion and entertainment industries and, in multiple interviews, has taken the haters to task for their constant dismissal of Kim’s alleged talent.

This long campaign is believed to have been the key to Kim’s big Vogue achievement. The reality star was mostly able to keep her photo shoot under wraps, although rumors of the project did manage to leak out in February. Still, when she posted a picture of the magazine cover to her Instagram, it came as a huge shock to fans and critics alike. The thrilled star revealed on Twitter that her spot on the front cover of Vogue was “a dream come true,” adding that she was so excited, she found it difficult to breathe.

Although there’s been a fair amount of backlash over her Vogue photo shoot, Kim is doing a great job of ignoring the haters. An insider recently told E! that the reality star was “over the moon” and not stressed about the rampant criticism. Now, she’s eagerly awaiting the official release of the April issue of Vogue, when fans will be treated to additional images from the photo shoot.
