Khloe Kardashian To Face A Lawsuit By Paparazzi Agency
It appears it can go the other way around as well. Namely, we just found out that one photo agency has filed a federal lawsuit against Khloe Kardashian, accusing her of infringing on their copyrights.
The photo agency is called Xposure Photos and according to court documents, they are suing the 32-year-old reality star for illegally posting a copyrighted photo on her Instagram account without crediting the company that took the photo.
She also reportedly removed the copyright information that was on the snap, so Xposure Photos is demanding $150,000.
The photo in question was taken in September 2016 when Khloe and Kourtney Kardashian were hanging out at one Miami restaurant. There are also other snaps from this occasion that were originally bought by another outlet.
The Profit That Could Have Been
The photo company claims they would have made a profit from the photos if Khloe hadn’t posted them on her Instagram account.
Xposure Photos’ statement goes as follows:
“Kardashian’s Instagram post made the photograph immediately available to her nearly 67 million followers and others, consumers of entertainment news — and especially news and images of Kardashian herself, as evidenced by their status as followers of Kardashian —who would otherwise be interested in viewing licensed versions of the photograph in the magazines and newspapers that are plaintiff’s customers.”
As we know how much money social media posts by A-list celebrities can bring, it comes as no surprise that Xposure Photos is suing Khloe Kardashian.
Just to put the numbers in perspective, Beyoncé’s Instagram posts are reportedly worth $1 million each!
It will surely be interesting to see how this whole thing works out.
Khloe’s rep had no comment on the lawsuit.
