Nikki Reed Files for Divorce From Paul McDonald

Nikki Reed just can’t make it work any more, at least that’s what the most recent rumors to emerge out of Hollywood are. The former “Twilight” star has filed for divorce from her strong voiced husband, Paul McDonald, by citing “irreconcilable differences”. The divorce papers being filed are no surprise to any fans that have been following the failing couple’s love life. The pair had announced their intentions to split up back in March and even admitted to the fact that they had been living apart for almost six months.

The curve ball in this tumultuous relationship comes in the form of the music album that they are still working on and releasing. The title of the record is “I’m Not Falling” which is, perhaps, a tad bit ironic considering the state of their marriage. Perhaps they plan to use their room in the tabloids as an opportunity to push their new record out on the public. Paul McDonald, as a former “American Idol” contestant, can use all of the publicity that he can manage to lay hands on.

Paul and Nikki were married in Malibu, California, in July of 2011 after dating for a mere four months. The time line of their romance is considered hyper-fast even for Hollywood standards. They met in March, engaged in June, and then married in July, though some reports have their marriage becoming official in early October.

Despite their unconventional relationship and failing marriage, the two reportedly have remained close friends. They have been working together “closely” on their record and reportedly look forward to a “continued journey together”. What this means in terms of romance is up to anyone. Hollywood has always been quirky when it came to love, and these two are just continuing the weird tradition.
