Novak Djokovic Ties The Knot With Childhood Sweetheart Jelena Ristic

“To win Wimbledon and now this… I couldn’t ask for more,” said Novak’s depicting his state of mind after the wedding. He’s certainly the luckiest tennis player out there right now.

The champ tied the knot with his pregnant childhood sweetheart just days after winning the men’s title at world’s greatest tennis tournament ever, Wimbledon.

The couple exchanged vows in the grounds of Montenegro’s resort “Sveti Stefan” on Thursday.

“Seeing her for the first time in her wedding dress, smiling and walking towards me – she looked like an angel,” said Novak.

“I was trying to be present in that moment and memorize it. I was focused on her, and her smile and our baby. It really was a perfect moment. I am marrying the woman I love and there is no better feeling than that,” he said. “To win the Wimbledon and to now be preparing for fatherhood – I couldn’t ask for more.”

The 27-year-old Serbian-born sportsman was on the top of the world, but kept his composure. His childhood sweetheart and now wife, Jelena, however showed some waterworks.

“I was very nervous and everything seemed a blur. I was seeing him through tears and immediately started crying when I saw him. I was just so happy and probably being pregnant makes it quite difficult to control the emotions. I am so blessed to have him in my life. I couldn’t ask for a better partner than him,” said the bride.

“The wedding was everything we hoped it would be. Our family and closest friends united in a beautiful setting in celebration of our love. It was truly emotional and unforgettable for us.

The couple were originally supposed to marry on June 14, but Novak decided to postpone his wedding in order to concentrate on the tournament, and it certainly paid off as he defeated Roger Federer in the final to win his second Wimbledon title.

It would appear that Novak has good tactics both, on and off the tennis court. We certainly wish them a happy family life together.
