Tom Cruise Secretly Dating Fellow Scientologist Laura Prepon?

The king of controversy, Tom Cruise, has yet again hit the gossip circuit with the rumor that he’s dating red headed actress, Laura Prepon. Reports of the romance came into play when the actors were spotted wining and dining at a Los Angeles restaurant in November. The lovebirds were also witnessed getting cozy at the same restaurant months later and showed up as dates to a party thrown by John Travolta.

Prepon, a former star of retro sitcom “That 70’s Show,” wooed audiences with her role as a lesbian jailbird on the 2013 Netflix series, “Orange is the New Black.” Cruise, of course, is known for both his on and off screen antics. The wacky former stud carried out a high-profile marriage with the demure Katie Holmes, resulting in their always fashionable daughter, Suri, before they split in 2012.

So what could bring on this blossoming love affair between the thirty-something Prepon and the 51-year-old Cruise? Well, if the rumors are true, it could have something to do with their mutual love for Scientology. Prepon reported her religious choices in 2007, while Cruise has always been vocal about his preference for the religion and has claimed that it cured his dyslexia.

Prepon’s ex and former “70’s” cast member, Danny Masterson, has also made headlines with his ties to Scientology. Masterson was reported to have converted Prepon to the religion before the two broke up and he went on to marry wild child, Bijou Phillips. It’s still up in the air while co-stars and parents-to-be, Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher, join their former friends in practicing Scientology.

Fans of “Orange is the New Black,” a show that sparked discussion about gender and sexual identity to the masses, have expressed their outrage at this rumored romance. It has been said that Prepon reduced her lead role to mere guest appearances in the series at the insistence of the church. However, Cruise’s people have shown their thumbs up approval at the relationship and rave about their compatibility. Love ’em or hate ’em, it may be likely the gossip surrounding these two is true.
