Longtime fans of the Bridget Jones’s Diary actress have always known that she is a bit of a romantic and can be quite impulsive when it comes to her relationship choices, but then they weren’t expecting to catch wind of this wedding announcement back in 2005.

The country music crooner, Chesney and Zellweger had been dating for just 4 months when they took to the beaches of the US Virgin Islands to say their vows in front of an intimate gathering of just 35 guests. Pictures of the secret wedding surfaced on the pages of several different tabloids a few days after the secret wedding and showed the couple looking happy and carefree. But sadly this was another quick and impulsive decision that didn’t end well for the actress and Chesney.

The couple tried to annul the marriage after only 4 months of wedded bliss with Zellweger citing “fraud” on Chesney’s end. We never really got to the bottom of what transpired between the pair but we do know that things worked out for them both in the end and they seem to have been able to move on from the blip that was their secret marriage.
