Why Wouldn’t Rob Kardashian Attend His Sister’s Wedding?

If E! has anything to do with it, the May wedding of Kanye West and Kim Kardashian will be the biggest wedding of the year.

And speaking of big, one member of the televised Kardashian family may be conspicuously absent from all the pomp and circumstance of the upcoming elegant Parisian ceremony: Kim’s brother Rob.

Sources close to the family told RadarOnline.com recently that Rob has some serious concerns about making an appearance, mainly due to his own appearance – though there’s nothing wrong with a little pudge in the big picture, he feels uncomfortable with his current weight.

If it were a smaller affair for family and friends, that may be different circumstances. But since this may be one the network’s and the show’s largest spectacles for 2014, millions of viewers could be watching, even if they’ll mainly be tuning into Kim and Kanye’s special day.

Rob certainly has had maintained more of a supporting role in the family’s televised antics, and doesn’t attract the headlines or generate the regular drama that keeps people tuning in as much as his sisters, their significant others or his mom and step-dad.

He wasn’t even seen in the family’s official Christmas card last year, and he’s declined going on family vacations in recent years because of depression and concern about being seen in the spotlight.

While he isn’t officially in the estranged category, he definitely isn’t a show’s regular. Kim has also called him a slacker on past occasions while he tries to figure out what he wants to do with his life, even though the show is really about the whole family struggling with this question from time to time.

Another factor that may be responsible for him keeping the distance lately is that he feels alone. He used to have an ally in Lamar Odom, but since Lamar and Khloe split up, Lamar is no longer in the picture.

Hollywood News Daily, when reporting on Rob’s possible no-show, encouraged him to suck up any concerns about his appearance and show how important it is that family stays together.
